Please help us to continue the fight against light rail and high rise development occurring along our beach corridor from Maroochydore to Birtinya and eventualy all the way to Caloundra.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads has now followed in the footsteps of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council, and named light rail and rapid bus transit as the only two transport options they are now considering in their Sunshine Coast Public Transport Business Case. Both will run on double wide, dedicated lanes in the middle of the road, which means loss of lanes, and fixed, inflexible infrastrucure all the way along our coastal strip. This is despite strong community views against the route and in particular ligh rail. We support a better public transport system for the Sunshine Coast, but light rail is NOT the solution.
Meanwhile the Sunshine Coast Regional Council is charging ahead with its plans to amend the Planning Scheme to allow high-rise development along this "dedicated" transport corridor. These plans will lead to continuous wall to wall high rise along our coastal strip, more traffic congestion, not less, put intrusive barriers along our beach front and threaten to destroy the Sunshine Coast Lifestyle that we know today.
We plan to continue to fight these plans and ensure as a community we have a voice. To do this we again need to raise funds so we can produce materials that residents can use to voice their objections. If you want to protect our Coastal Strip so that future generations can enjoy what we have today, please help.

The Raffle commences on the 10th of November 2023, closes on the 14th of January 2024 and will be drawn on the 14th of January 2024 at 94 Point Cartwright Drive Buddina Qld at 10.30am.
